Student life at the School of Nursing pairs the educational and social resources of a large, world-class university with a supportive environment at the school. Comprehensive student support services are offered and students are encouraged to be a part of the governance structure of the school by serving on key committees.
Facilities for clinical practice and research are extensive both in and outside of Madison. These include University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, American Family Children's Hospital, and UW Carbone Cancer Center; hospitals and clinics in urban and rural settings; nursing homes; day-care centers; and public health agencies.
The school's location in Wisconsin's capital city offers exposure to state policy making. On campus, the Health Sciences Learning Center (HSLC) brings together students in nursing, medicine, and pharmacy. State-of-the-art classrooms, computer resources, distance education facilities, and the Ebling Library are housed in the HSLC.
The baccalaureate and master's degree programs in nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
