DEGREE INFORMATION:

MS

BS

University of Michigan, Ann Arbor MI

DESCRIPTION OF RESEARCH FOCUS:

I am interested in studying how the interaction between child and environment affects that child’s social and emotional development. Specifically, I am interested in how nursing behaviors in the context of the child’s health care environment affect the developmental transition wherein the child’s affect and socialization shifts from being regulated by others (parents) to being regulated by self. My ultimate goal is to improve the implementation of family centered, developmentally supportive care to families in diverse health care settings.
