DESCRIPTION OF RESEARCH FOCUS:My research examines the effects of global environmental change on human health within a framework of travel health. I have conducted an on-line survey of study abroad student travel health risk perceptions and prevention action plans. The focus of my dissertation research is to develop a web-based game targeting study abroad student risk appraisal and knowledge of malaria. Gaming and simulation offer cutting edge strategies as educational tools that provide practice with decision-making about personal prevention actions. MAJOR ADVISOR:Linda C.
