DESCRIPTION OF RESEARCH FOCUS:My research interests are environmental influences on healthy lifestyles and community initiatives that incorporate environmental change to promote healthy lifestyles. In 2004, I conducted a focus group study with residents of a low-income neighborhood to identify environmental supports and barriers to healthy lifestyles. My next study will use survey and focus group methods to examine perceived influences on physical activity and healthy eating in a low-income population. MAJOR ADVISOR:Linda C.
