DESCRIPTION OF RESEARCH FOCUS:Being a maternal-child nurse from Thailand, I am concerned about the high incidence of low-birth weight infants in my country. If I could facilitate pregnant women’s consistent engagement of recommended health behaviors, then the health of pregnant women and their infants could be improved. My program of research involves health behaviors of pregnant women. I have designed one study to describe pregnant women’s goals regarding health behaviors (e.g., healthy diet in pregnancy). Based on these findings, I will design a patient-centered intervention to promote health behaviors among pregnant women.
