Madison, WI - In a finding that surprised the research team, more than 20 percent of fifth-graders say they sometimes or always feel unsafe at school...The University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing study of Midwestern fifth-graders also found that more than 40 percent of children surveyed said they feel unsafe going to or from school. UW System Board of Regents Recommends Funding Construction of New UW-Madison School of Nursing Building in 2011

Madison, WI – The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents today recommended to the governor that state funds be put in place to permit construction in 2011 of a new 100,000–sq–ft. UW-Madison School of Nursing building. The $53 million building is currently in the programming phase, with completion slated for 2013. A mix of state and private funds will finance the construction. Board of Regents Approves Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Degree

Madison, WI – The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents has approved a proposal for the UW– Madison School of Nursing’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. The program prepares nurses for leadership roles in advanced nursing practice. Students prepare for roles as clinical nurse specialists or nurse practitioners in adult/gerontology, pediatrics or psychiatric mental health. Students interested in dual preparation as an advanced practice nurse and nurse educator may add a nursing education focus.
