Kahler Slater Selected As Architectural Firm to Design Nursing Science Center
For Immediate Release

Madison, WI – Kahler Slater, a Wisconsin-based architectural-engineering firm, has been selected to conduct programming validation and provide the architectural design for the planned UW–Madison School of Nursing’s Nursing Science Center. Construction on the $52 million, 100,000-square-foot building is slated to begin in 2011, with completion scheduled for summer 2013.

"The School of Nursing is thrilled to partner with Kahler Slater on this project," says Dean Katharyn May. "This is an outstanding architectural firm, with a well-deserved reputation for excellence. The new School of Nursing will have a huge impact on our ability to educate the next generation of nurses who will serve Wisconsin and beyond as clinicians, educators, and researchers. It is so exciting to see this plan, now more than twenty years in the making, finally becoming a reality."

Kahler Slater designed the Health Sciences Learning Center at the UW–Madison. The firm has also designed the Nursing Clinical Education Center at the University of Iowa, the School of Nursing and Student Community Center at the University of Texas, and the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing Expansion at Case Western Reserve University, among other projects.
