Faculty Member Linda Baumann, PhD, RN, will become new president
of the Society of Behavioral Medicine.
Linda
Baumann, PhD, RN, professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
School of Nursing, has assumed the role of president of the
Society of Behavioral Medicine at the close of the Society’s
24th annual meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Society of Behavioral Medicine, headquartered in Middleton,
Wisconsin, is the largest multidisciplinary organization dedicated
to advancing the science and practice of behavioral approaches
to health promotion, disease prevention and treatment.
Baumann’s research focuses on health
beliefs and self-regulation of behavior in health and illness
in underserved populations. She teaches courses in primary
care, rural health, and health behavior and maintains an academic
clinical practice as an adult nurse practitioner.
