Good-bye to Ann Windsor: Teacher, mentor, friend

This May, the SoN community will say good-bye to Clinical Associate
Professor Ann Windsor, who has been with us for the past 21 years.
She will retire after the 2004 spring semester.
Ann began her academic career as an assistant professor at Indiana
University in Indianapolis in 1975. In August of 1983, she accepted
a position as lecturer at the School of Nursing. The following year, she was appointed assistant professor
and in 1987 was promoted to clinical associate professor.
We have had the good fortune to share in Ann’s leadership in clinical
teaching and her expertise in clinical practice and service. She
has offered clinical experiences in acute care, ambulatory care,
obstetrics and operating room procedure. She helped develop a new
clinical site at Sauk-Prairie Memorial Hospital. She provided course
learning in urinary catheterization to 2nd year medical
students. Ann has been a gifted mentor to honors students and a
faculty volunteer for new student orientations. Her volunteer activities
in the community have included work with TB clinics, Red Cross Bloodmobile,
St. Mary’s Care Center and the Alliance for the Mentally Ill. She
has been loved by her students and well respected by her peers for
her academic and service contributions. We will miss you, Ann.
A celebration to recognize her contributions and achievements
will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2004, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at
Lakeview Park (Mendota St. and Allen Blvd.) in Middleton.
