President's Message | Board Member Biographies


Sarah Mathews Cronin - Has served as Secretary since 2008. She received her Bachelor's degree in nursing from George Mason University in 2005, began her nursing career on the Intermediate Care Cardiac Unit at Georgetown University Hospital, and currently works at Meriter Hospital on the Adult Medical Unit. Previously, she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Russian from UW-Madison in 1993, and PhD degree in Russian from Bryn Mawr College in 2000. She will graduate in 2009 from the Master's Degree program at UW-Madison with a focus on the Adult NP role. After graduation she plans to work in primary care as a Nurse Practitioner, and to combine her nursing and Russian backgrounds to work internationally.

Lauren Dallman – Serves as Vice President, Program Coordinator for the chapter. Lauren is a 1997 graduate of UW-Madison with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing. Lauren is an advance practice nurse who began her career working at UW Hospital as a staff nurse on Vascular Surgery service and in the surgical float pool. She furthered her education at UW-Madison in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program, and graduated in 2005. She now works as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with inpatients on the peripheral vascular surgery service at UW Hospital. Lauren has been a member of STTI since 1997, joining the Board of Directors in 2003.

Doris Ellison – Serves as the Beta-Eta-at-Large Membership Counselor for Edgewood College. She attended UW-Madison SON for her BSN completion and Master’s degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Public Health Nursing and Nursing Education. Doris was inducted to STTI at an undergraduate. She currently teaches in the undergraduate nursing program at Edgewood College.

Diana Girdley - re-joins the Board and will function as Archivist. She is a clinical assistant professor for the UW-Madison School of Nursing. She received her BS in nursing from Ball State University and her master’s degree from UW-Madison. Her research interests include care of adults and renal disease.

Colleen Gullickson - recently joined the board and will be working on leadership succession. She is also learning the Counselor role with D. Ellison, and will be assuming that responsibility in a year.

Sarah Kruger – Serves as the Treasurer for Beta Eta. Sarah is a Clinical Associate Professor at UW-Madison in the undergraduate program. She also works as a Nurse Practitioner at a local diabetes clinic. Sarah received her undergraduate degree from Edgewood, and her MSN from UW-Madison.

David Kussow – David has been a nurse for 10 years, including 8 years as a staff nurse of Medical and Pediatric nursing, 2 years as a clinical nursing instructor at Edgewood, and is currently an Assistant Nurse Manager at Meriter Hospital. David received his undergraduate degree from UW-Oshkosh, and is MSN with a focus in Nursing Education from Edgewood College. David has been a member of Sigma Theta Tau for 10 years and is currently serving as Archivist and Leadership Success Chair for the Chapter.

Jaime Myers – will be working on communications to Chapter members, including the current website for Beta Eta and monthly chapter newsletters. Jaime is a graduate student the UW-SON, working towards a Clinical Nurse Specialist degree. She is employed at the UW-Hospital as a liver transplant coordinator. Jaime obtained her undergraduate nursing degree at the UW-Madison. Her clinical interests include improving patient education and management of patients with Hepatitis C and other liver diseases.

Roberta Pawlak - has been on the Board of Beta-Eta-at-Large for four years serving currently as President. She has been a member of STTI for 26 years, graduating from a BSN program at D’Youville College in Buffalo, an MSN program from the University of Buffalo in 1987. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate in the PhD nursing program at UW-Madison, with a secondary concentration in Population Health. Her research interests are in the care of Interdisciplinary Care health services for Children with Special Health Care Needs. She is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Edgewood College teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs.
