Announcement (download PDF flyer)

2008 Marsha Rather Leadership Award Recipient

Lori Teymer, RN

Congratulations to Lori Teymer, a nurse leader from Phelps, WI. Lori graduated in 1990 from UW-Madison with a Bachelors degree in communications. After working in business for a number of years, Lori returned to school and graduated from Nicolet Area Technical College in 2003 with an Associate degree. The SWIFT program provided an excellent opportunity and now Lori is enrolled at UW-Madison in the RN-MSN clinical educator and clinical nurse specialist track. Lori is employed at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on the cardiac step-down unit, where she is also a nurse preceptor and mentor in the Aspirus Nurse Residency Program. Lori has also been active in promoting the professionalism of nursing. In June 2008, she presented a program on the history and importance of nursing documentation for the hospital’s continuing education series. Lori will complete her BSN requirements in May, 2009, and then plans to start working toward her MSN degree. She graciously accepts the honor of being inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society as a Nurse Leader.
